We have it positioned in the living room. The dim setting would not, for me, be dim enough for use in the bedroom. The Display: What I like about the display is that it is very easy to see, from any angle, it is bright and can be set to dim at night automatically. I was leaning toward the AcuRite brand since we have had one of their simple black and white, temperature/humidity only models for about 4-6 years years and it has worked flawlessly. Some reviews indicated that the units were hard to see, this is not the case with this one.
